We have developed an expertise in working with intellectually gifted students who have:

• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

• Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), such as Asperger's Syndrome and High Functioning Autism

We commonly complete ADHD, psychoeducational, and psychodiagnostic assessments for many of the local K-12 schools and universities including Caltech, USC, and Occidental College. We have established professional relationships with many of the local junior colleges including Pasadena City College (PCC), Glendale City College (GCC), Citrus College, and Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC).

Our comprehensive psychoeducational assessments meet or exceed the testing criteria for accommodations on the: ISEE, HSPT, SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, MAT, DAT, PCAT, OAT, Bar Exam, Medical Exam, Nursing Exam, Pharmacy Exam, Dental Exam, among others.

Our wrap around services are designed to help you navigate your way through the accommodation maze in either private or public school. Our experienced diagnostic team will get to know you extremely well through our evaluation process. Once we all understand the issues you face, we will generate a strategy to best address your challenges. We often attend school meetings (SST, 504 Plan, IEP, or meetings with the Disabled Students Department on your college campus) with you to facilitate the communication of your special needs with the school. Follow up confidential counseling sessions may give you the support and study skills you need to turn your academic life around and successfully venture down the career path you've been dreaming of. Our ADHD coaching focuses on the development of underlying organization, time management, and self-discipline skills necessary to maximize your educational experience.

Both Dr. Herman and Ms. Sullivan, our Director, are well published and have presented at numerous local, national, and international conferences on learning disabilities, ADHD, and autistic spectrum disorders.

Kenneth L. Herman, Ph.D., the CEO of Herman & Associates, earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1988. He is both a Licensed Psychologist (#PSY10916) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#MN24462) and has over twenty years of clinical and assessment experience. He has published many professional articles and spoken at numerous local, national, and international conferences. 

Jessica Hess, Ph.D., the Clinical Director of Herman & Associates, earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in 2005. Dr. Hess is a licensed psychologist in the State of California (#PSY21552) and is an ATNEA and Medicare Advantage provider.

We are located in South Pasadena, California, but serve the entire Los Angeles/Southern California area including Pasadena, Glendale, San Marino, La Canada, and the San Gabriel Valley.  If you live outside of Southern California, please inquire about our out of State fly-in assessment program.
