Herman & Associates: Assessment Information
Our assessments range significantly depending on the referral question. Some clients are interested in an expert review, or second opinion, regarding another professional's findings, interpretation, and/or proposed accommodations. Other clients want to begin a multi-step assessment process to examine a specific area of concern. Most clients request our comprehensive evaluations that meet or exceed "best practice." Each evaluation involves a commitment to provide top-level diagnostic work. We believe that the best results come from an in-depth understanding of our clients.
Our assessments are developed to meet the individual goals of our clients. We typically consider five different modules when assembling an evaluation: Interviews, Attention, Cognitive, Academic, and Social-Emotional. Each module contains a number of assessment tools.
Interviews
- Initial Conference
- Review of Records
- Final Conference
Attention Module
- Classroom Observation (if appropriate)
- Parent/Teacher/Other Rating Forms
- Continuous Performance Tests
Cognitive Module
- Intelligence Testing
- Learning and Memory (if appropriate)
- Advanced Clinical Solutions (if appropriate)

Our comprehensive assessment packages include all the conferences, review of records (as appropriate), test administration, scoring, interpretation, and report writing. Our fees depend on the assessment goals and are discussed during the initial conference when we generate an assessment plan.
The first step is to schedule an initial conference. The initial conference is a 45-minute session designed to meet with one of our doctors and share background and concerns. The cost of the initial conference is $250. Please e-mail Dr. Herman if you are interested in obtaining more information: ken@docherman.com.
